Debra Dawson Named VIP of the Year for Excellence in Medical Records Support

WARSAW, IN, July 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Debra L. Dawson, MBA, Data Coordinator and Clinical Data Management team member for DePuy Orthopaedics Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in medical records support.

Fifteen years ago, Ms. Dawson entered the health care industry as a certified medical technician. Upon realizing the position was not for her, she transitioned to a career in medical records, for which she was much better suited. For seven years, she has served as a data coordinator on the clinical data management team for DePuy Orthopaedics, a medical device company. In this position, she is responsible for overseeing query resolutions and clinical research studies performed by the company to improve its products and services. With a significant interest in the manufacturing and implantation of hip replacements, she excels at processing information and guidance documents regarding hip, knee and shoulder replacements. She is also responsible for development of case report forms.

Ms. Dawson attributes her success to her determination and the support she receives from her friends and family. She earned an MBA from the Indiana Institute of Technology in 2009 to supplement her comprehensive experience in the field. Professionally, she is affiliated with the Kosciusko Association for Female Enrichment and the Society for Clinical Data Management. Ms. Dawson was honored with an Encore Award from Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. in 2010. She intends to continue her education in the future to help her grow within her profession.

Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, reading, riding four-wheelers with her grandson, watching Colts' football, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying the summer, her favorite season.
