Epiphan Systems', a manufacturer of industrial video capture, broadcasting, and recording solutions, announced today that support for DVI and audio inputs is now integrated into its popular VGA Recorder Lite product.

VGA Recorder Lite is a stand-alone high resolution video recording device that captures the video from any composite video, VGA, or DVI port, mixes it with a supplied analog audio stream, and streams this content directly to a FTP server or repository. Hardware-wise, VGA Recorder Lite features 32 Gigabytes of internal solid-state disk space, an integrated 2-port Ethernet hub, and a DVI/VGA splitter. Video capture is performed at frame rates of up to 10 frames per second, and can be transcoded into a wide variety of CODECs, including DivX, Xvid, ASF, and MPEG-2, amongst others.

Unlike other similar solutions, VGA Recorder Lite requires no licensing or support fees to operate. Furthermore, the firmware can be updated automatically through the Internet or through its USB port.
